The major objective of this bachelor thesis is a dining table, specifically an expandable table with added wooden supports. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the historical development of dining tables and their construction, the official requirements of furniture dimensions with regards to the science of ergonomics and anthropometry, types of dining tables and their manufacturing and lastly the legislature in form of the official standards and proofing. The thesis aims to support its output, which is the prototype of an expandable dining table with added wooden supports. Its layout is attached independently in the technical documentation.

This bachelor thesis contains of two parts. In the first part the research of the table top market of Czech Republic is made and the opinion of producers on the presence of defects in wood used for the table tops. Results are collected to table and diagrams and then they are evaluated. The second part is dedicated to making a prototype of decorative table top with some defects in the structure. The process is being illustrated with photos and comments.

The bachelor thesis deals with proportional of construction solution of a conference table with the adjustable table top. The whole problematics is elaborated into four thematic parts: Theoretical basis of the issue; Research of current solutions including evaluation; Determination of starting points and own design of structural solution with technical description including visualization and design of packaging for dispatch to the commercial network, where the construction solution is elaborated in the form of drawing documentation with piece list, an economic evaluation in the level of direct material costs and the last part contains summary with discussion, including benefit for practice and conclusion. The construction solution accepts technical and safety requirements according to applicable standards.

The Bachelor thesis looks into an optical thinning of the desktop and aims for a technical solution of this issue. A research was carried out at first. The research analyzed a foreign companies solution of the same matter. In the next, different material and technological possibilities were studied. It is said that such edge processing is workable , including a possible surface treating analysis of the already processed edge. Based on the information extracted from these researches, the possibilities of the used material and technological procedures, including the surface treatment were fixed. 12 desktop samples were produced after the analysis and optimal tooling solution had been made. The tabletop samples accompanied by a questionnaire were finally sent to either local and foreign experts dealing with office furniture sales
